Yesterday I wrote about the joy of eating in with my finacee and how it is great fun. After talking with my fiancee last night, I realized that I forgot to mention something very important to this whole thing - most of the time my fiancee is the one cooking, and I am the one washing.
Since I started living with my fiancee, I have taken on a number of unique "jobs" to help balance the share of work in the house. My fiancee will cook, but I have to prep and wash the dishes. She will iron my shirts, but I have to prepare water and vitamins before bed. She will help clean the floors, but I have to make breakfast each morning.
Every day, morning to night, we have our routines and jobs. It isn't really that clean or organized - we just kind of picked and choose stuff over time and we fell into that rhythm.
And I think that is what makes it so much fun being together. We match our needs and take up the slack when needed.
